Stress is positive when we can manage it, because it motivates us to do things, helps us to go forward in our lives and protects us from danger.  Often people will say they are stressed although it might commonly be a ‘situation’ they are experiencing that is stressful.  Hypnotherapy helps change people’s perceptions and how they feel about a problem.  However, we all have a certain stress threshold and if this is crossed on a regular basis, stress can become problematic and lead to both mental and physical health problems. Interestingly the word disease is made up of two components “dis” and “ease”.  Modern life is becoming increasingly fast paced and it is said that around a third of the population are suffering from stressed induced symptoms, so learning how to manage stress has become more important than ever.

I empower my clients so that they have the tools for dealing with stress and I help them in developing a healthy perspective for dealing with life’s challenges. You can’t always control what is happening to you in life, but you can control how you respond to it.  In a stress management session I will teach you self-hypnosis techniques which will enable you to remain calm and confident each and every day in any normal situation.  I use a combination of Neuro Linguistic Programming and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Things can stack up from worrying about the mortgage, work, the kids, the health of a parent until something else unexpected happens which takes you beyond your stress threshold where you find it even more difficult to cope.  If you are stressed about your current circumstances or some future event I can help you to develop new perspectives, help you to learn to relax and teach you how to prepare yourself to face any challenge in an optimum (relaxed) state of mind.
